Homages Pour In for Rob and Michele Reiner as Autopsy Reports Remain Under Wraps.

Well beyond 14 days following the shocking loss of renowned filmmaker Rob Reiner and his wife, photographer Michele Reiner, peers and loved ones are still paying respects to the couple.

Quoting a Classic: Cary Elwes Recalls His Director

Writing on social media, actor Cary Elwes, who was featured in Reiner's beloved 1987 film *The Princess Bride*, explained he only now felt prepared to share openly about his personal sorrow.

"Enough time has gone by that I can at last express my sorrow into words," wrote Elwes, noting that his first meeting with Reiner left him smitten. "As we began spending more time together I understood this was someone I desired in my life."

The actor posted archival material from the film, remarking that he cannot recall "any day without mirth".

"This story is about affection, allegiance and giving. Values that Rob valued immensely. Which is among the many reasons he was the ideal person to direct it," Elwes expressed.

He went on to praise Michele Reiner, noting: "To say that they were a formidable pair would be an oversimplification. My heart still hurts every time I recall you." He finished with a phrase from *The Princess Bride*: "Sure, death cannot stop true love but life is pain without you."

Martin Scorsese Recalls a Friend and Collaborator

In a different essay, revered director Martin Scorsese shared memories of Reiner, whom he first met in the 1970s.

"From the start, I loved being with Rob. We had a natural affinity for each other. He was very funny and sometimes acutely humorous, but he was never the kind of guy who would take over the room," Scorsese said.

Scorsese highlighted Reiner's supporting role in his 2013 film *The Wolf of Wall Street*, portraying the father of the main character.

"He could improvise with the best. He was a master at comedy, he worked seamlessly with his co-stars, and he understood the human predicament of his character," Scorsese added.

Judicial Actions: Autopsy Reports Withheld

In a new development, a Los Angeles superior court judge ruled to block the release of the Reiners' post-mortem findings, after an appeal from the local authorities.

A court order issued a restriction on the files to restrict the public release of "any investigative information, notes, reports or photos" pertaining to the probe.

The Medical Examiner's office had already determined their deaths were the result of foul play, with a public database noting the cause as "wounds from an edged weapon".

Fallout and Commentary

After the killings, public personalities shared different responses.

Ex-President Donald Trump commented on the matter, making provocative claims that were widely condemned by numerous commentators.

Podcaster Joe Rogan lent his criticism to the detractors recently. Talking on his program, Rogan characterized the comments as "shocking" and remarked they demonstrated a troubling absence of compassion.

Rogan ended by remarking that an adviser could have stepped in when the decision to comment on the passing was made.
