David Walliams dropped by longtime publisher.
Acclaimed young adult author and entertainer David Walliams is no longer with his longtime publishing house, as confirmed by the firm.
An official for the publisher commented: "Upon deliberation, and with the guidance of its recently appointed chief executive, HarperCollins UK will not be releasing additional books by David Walliams."
Reports indicate that the conclusion was made after an inquiry regarding allegations of inappropriate behaviour towards young women.
The company has not elaborated on the motivations for this action, noting: "It is not our policy to discuss internal matters."
A Highly Successful Publishing History
Walliams is one of the UK's most prolific writers for young readers, with sales exceeding over six tens of millions of copies internationally in dozens of tongues.
His inaugural foray into kids' literature, *The Boy in the Dress*, came out under HarperCollins in 2008.
Some of his titles, for example *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have subsequently been turned into television films.
He has published more than 40 books in total, encompassing a Christmas book named *Santa & Son*, which came out under HarperCollins in October.
A Dual Career
His initial claim to fame came on the TV sketch series *Little Britain* and has been honored with National Television Awards for his role as a panelist on *Britain's Got Talent*.
He was made an OBE in 2017 in recognition of his work for philanthropic and artistic endeavors.
The publisher's decision comes after the appointment of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's recent CEO last fall.
