The 30-year-old golfer displayed exceptional nerve to secure the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship on Sunday, beating Tommy Fleetwood in a tense play-off after a topsy-turvy final round of competition.

The Englishman nailed a crucial birdie from around eight feet to clinch the win, echoing his only previous tournament triumph at the 2020 Scottish Open, which was likewise a playoff win against the same opponent.

Sunday's Play Excitement

Rai started the final round with a one-shot advantage over countryman Fleetwood and Danish golfer Højgaard. He ended up with a overall score of twenty-under after a up-and-down, five-under closing round that featured seven birdie putts and a pair of bogeys.
